New Direction In Jazz And Venezuelan Music
Hailed for its spirited performances and its fascinating fusion of Venezuelan folk rhythms and adventurous Jazz explorations, The VNote Ensemble give voice to the hidden treasure of Venezuelan music. The group is committed to raising that voice and exploring the connection between North American Jazz, traditional Venezuelan songs and original musical ideas. Jackeline Rago (cuatro/bandola/percussion), Donna Viscuso (flute), Sam Bevan (bass) and Michaelle Goerlitz (percussion) defiantly ignore musical boundaries to create a new direction that journeys through the infectious rhythms of Joropo, Swing, Gaita, Soul, Be-bop and Calypso, among many others.
$10- $15 admission. Doors at 7:30 pm. Show at 8:00 pm.
