ReroRera: Ethnic Inspirations
Exploring Georgian, Middle Eastern, Northern and Eastern European folk musical traditions
ReroRera is in a continuous search for common grounds, paths, and, ultimately, a common expressive language of different ethnic musical traditions. The group’s multicultural background enables ReroRera to create the texture of world folk-inspired themes in a very different, unconventional way, using the language of jazz, fusion, funk, and other genres.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
Zaza Korinteli, better known by his stage name Zumba, is a Georgian ethnic-jazz-rock musician and musicologist whose music fuses Georgian folk tradition and other world music inspirations. Sergey Prokushkin is a jazz pianist and composer with a multicultural background focusing on a variety of world folk music with South American, Middle Eastern, and European flavors.
Billy Edwards (upright bass) is a San Jose native who studied under Faye Carol and Buster Williams. Introduced to the bass by Jemal Ramirez and Dan Robbins, Billy has performed with Dennis Chambers, Rodney Ruckus, Blaque Dynamite, Aaron Green, Thomas Pridgen, Roy McCurdy, Dayna Stephens, Howard Wiley, Joe Warner, Craig Handy, Rickey Woodard, Casey Benjamin, Tomoki Sanders, Aaron Burnett, Sylvia Cuenca, Calvin Keys, Bruce Forman, and Faye Carol.
Georgia-born violinist Giorgi Khokhobashvili has been performing in Northern California since 2005. He is active in various Sacramento-based projects, with a strong interest in experimental world music.
