Taking the audience through the streets of Old Havana, Tito Gonzalez returns to the Red Poppy for a night of vibrant tunes with Cuban son and the tres guitar.
Singer/composer Tito Gonzalez is a master showman with a voice that has been compared to that of classic son singer, Daniel Santos. Gonzalez delivers songs that are deceptively simple – between their fluid melodies and retrograde rhythms, they evoke a focus and introspection that Tito attributes, in part, to his life in America. Along with son, his music demonstrates a broad range of Cuban genres such as rumba, guaracha and the most romantic boleros.
