Tiffany Austin Quintet: Bessie’s Blues: A Tribute to Bessie Smith

A dynamic night of blues, soul, and swing, the Tiffany Austin Quintet celebrates the great blues singer, Bessie Smith.
Described by NPR’s Kevin Whitehead as “a musician to keep an ear on,” Tiffany Austin is one of the fastest rising jazz singers in Northern California, with a tradition-rooted yet thoroughly contemporary style. After earning her J.D. from Berkeley Law, Tiffany released her debut CD, Nothing But Soul. Her refreshing singing style has attracted the attention of artists such as vibraphonist Roy Ayers, saxophonist John Handy, and drummer Tommy Campbell. Tiffany has performed at venues across the U.S., including SFJAZZ, Yoshi’s (Oakland and San Francisco), and the Blue Note (New York).
