Ramana Vieira has been described as the “new voice of Portuguese world music.” “Cabo Verde,” the opening track of her 2015 album, Fado da Vida, was nominated as “Best World Music Song” at the 2015 International Portuguese Music Awards, and her version of the standard “Ai Mouraria” was nominated for “Best Fado” at the International Portuguese Music Awards in 2016.
