Matt Munisteri w/ special guest Rob Reich: Virtuosic Guitar, Accordion & Piano

Guitarist, singer, and songwriter Matt Munisteri brings Red Poppy favorite Rob Reich back to the Poppy for an evening of accordion, piano, guitar, and vocals. Whether singing his own songs, presenting his unearthed and discarded treasures of the American Songbook, or simply playing guitar, Munisteri will demonstrate a distinctly pre-rock sensibility that allows for emotional directness without the gauzy veil of retro-chic.

Called one of “New York’s finest vintage guitar stylists” by Downbeat magazine, Matt Munisteri is a Brooklyn native who has worked with singer Catherine Russell, violinist Mark O’Connor, and Steven Bernstein’s Millennial Territory Orchestra over the last few years. Besides collaborating with a long list of notables such as Matt Glaser, Vince Giordano, Jenny Scheinman, Bucky Pizzarelli, Dick Hyman, Frank Vignola, Loudon Wainwright, Holly Cole, Madeline Peyroux, Diana Krall, “Little” Jimmy Scott, and Geoff Muldaur, Munisteri has played and sung on a wide range of movie soundtracks, television shows, and commercials.
