Kardash

Kardash is a project bringing together the sounds of Middle East with the modern feels of psychedelic rock and jazz. Taking its cue from the Anatolian Rock of Turkey, this incarnation of Kardash performs Turkish Folk (Turku) with a strong jazz sensibility, reminiscent of such lime-lights as Selda Bagcan or Baris Manco.
Ultimately, Kardash is about the timeless space evoked in song and dance and commonality of the various traditions, ancient and modern, the group encompasses. Transcending the specifics of time and place, Kardash aspires to bring audience and performer into contact with the wellsprings of our greater shared humanity.
