Joseph in the Well: “Migrants,” Eclectic String Pop Show Inspired by Tales of Immigration

October 18, 2015 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

$15 – $20

Joseph in the Well is the original music project of award-winning Sacramento violinist-looper Joe Kye. Featuring violin, lush string loops, upright bass, and percussion, the band’s sound has been influenced by artists like Andrew Bird, Sufjan Stevens, and Miles Davis. Indicative of Joe Kye’s migrant upbringing, Joseph in the Well draws from multiple genres, including rock, jazz, classical, and more. The final stop on his national tour, this intimate, lively evening seeks to unite, empower, and cultivate the inner child. Joseph in the Well’s performance will feature music, projection art, and dance from some of the Bay Area’s finest artists. This collaborative production is inspired by tales of immigration, identity, and humanity, as told through vignettes and cultural observations
from Kye’s personal journey.

Featuring:
Joe Kye – violin, guitar, mandolin, vocals
Bryan Kilfoil – drums
