Dave Amato and Friends: Jazz, Blues & Grooves

Bay Area guitarist Dave Amato – acclaimed as a solo and ensemble performer, composer, educator, host of KUSF’s “Guitar Journeys,” and stringed-instrument repairman – assembles an all-star cast for a kid- and parent-friendly afternoon of laid-back explorations and improvisations.

Dave Amato grew up in Walnut Creek and graduated from the University of Southern California with a B.M. in studio jazz guitar. Since 1993, he has been performing around the Bay Area and Southern California with his jazz ensemble, as a solo guitarist, and with many local bands. Dave, who has done studio work for many artists, has also composed and performed music for both independent films and nationally broadcast commercials.
