Danny Green Trio: Jazz, Classical & Brazilian Convergence

October 23, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

$10 – $15

Pianist/composer Danny Green and his trio return to the Red Poppy to showcase their melodically charged blend of jazz, Brazilian, Latin, and classical sounds. As a rising force on the national jazz scene, Green distinguishes himself with a beautifully articulated touch and deep affinity for Brazilian music.

Featuring:
Danny Green – piano
Justin Grinnell – bass
Julien Cantelm – drums

Southern California native Danny Green has garnered a reputation in the jazz community as an emerging artist whose music sounds both seasoned and fresh. After studying classical music and jazz at UC San Diego and San Diego State University, Green signed to OA2 Records and went on to win two San Diego Music Awards for best jazz album. In 2016, he released Altered Narratives, one of Public Radio International’s “Top 30 New Releases” on its “Jazz After Hours” playlist.
