Daniel Riera Ensemble: Future Flutist with Electric Ensemble

November 5, 2016 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm

$20

Drawing inspiration from ’70s jazz, funk, and the rhythmic tug of post-Dilla hip-hop, Daniel Riera presents new music for flute, wind controller, and electric ensemble. The multi-instrumentalist is well known for his impressive performances on the wind controller, a digital woodwind delivering earth-shaking bass, acidic melodies, and even chords.

Featuring:
Daniel Riera – flute, wind controller
Kev Choice – keyboards
Dame Drummer – drums
Kai Lyons – guitar
Camille Mai – vocals

San Francisco native Daniel Riera is a flutist, bassist, producer, sound designer, and teacher. A winner of the ASCAP Young Jazz Composer Award and a graduate of the Berklee College of Music, Riera also has a strong background in Latin music. In addition to his own ensemble, Daniel performs with groups such as Soltrón, Blind Willies, Marcus Cohen and the Congress, and the Retromaniax. He has taught music notation and score preparation at Academy of Art University since 2012.
