Flying Under the Radar Presents: Brazil Beat ft. Sarah Cabral, Alex Calatayud, Eva Scow & Mike Taylor

The Red Poppy Art House and Flying Under the Radar join together for a three-night co-production of artists from Brazil and the U.S., featuring Ian Faquini ft. Sandy Cressman & Colin Hogan (Thurs 1/7), Brazil Beat (Fri 1/8), and Ricardo Peixoto Quartet (Sat 1/9).
Brazil Beat is a project comprised of longtime collaborators Sarah Cabral, Alex Calatayud, Eva Scow, and Mike Taylor. With a focus on Brazilian jazz, the group traverses between classics from the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s while contributing a uniquely contemporary repertoire.

About Flying Under the Radar:
Leading up to Flying Under the Radar’s 2017 Biennial Festival of the Arts, FUTR is partnering with local SF/Bay Area organizations to present a vibrant and eclectic range of artists producing work across disciplines and aesthetics, as well as to broaden and deepen relationships across artistic communities.
The first Flying Under the Radar Biennial will debut in San Francisco, California over five days in April 2017. A second edition, in 2019, will occur in Rio de Janeiro. The event will feature thirty emerging or career artists with limited or no exposure outside their home countries. Participating artists will be from the metropolitan areas of Rio de Janeiro and San Francisco/Bay Area, and will be known for working in the areas of Film and Video, Music, Dance and Performance, Poetry, and Visual Arts.
Admission: $15-25. Doors at 7:00pm. Show at 7:30pm. All ages welcome.
