$10 – $15Celebrate Carnaval with Latin Jazz and Spoken Word
This night is presented as part of Carnaval San Francisco, the largest multi-cultural celebration on the West Coast. The Afro-Cuban Jazz Cartel will feature music from their 2013 release, “San Francisco”, an homage to San Francisco’s rich Latin musical heritage that boasts innovative arrangements and novel rhythmic grooves. The result is a fiery creation that reflects the melting pot identity of Latin-Jazz’s African, Caribbean and North American roots. The Cartel will be complemented by the “Nuyorican” – a New Yorker and Puerto Rican – soul and blues infused poetry of Sandra Garcia Rivera.
