RED Talks at the Poppy beginning Saturday June 2!

Red Poppy Art House is thrilled to launch our new series entitled RED Talk.  RED Talks will consist of a presentation and topic of interest across a wide range of topics.  Does “RED” stand for anything?  Yes.  Really Excellent Discussions.

RED Talk Presents Leashed to Your Cat: Mind Control Parasites & the Illusion of Free Will
Think you’re completely in control? Think again…recent estimates predict something like 2 billion people have a parasite in their brain called Toxoplasma gondii, which can only reproduce in cats. Scientists are now finding a strong link between Toxo and, scarily, schizophrenia. Little is known about what it does in humans but a lot is known about what it does in mice — it makes them attracted to the very cats they fear the most and, conveniently, the very cats the parasite must get back to. Were there to be iconic ‘crazy cat lady’ theme music you would, at this point, cue it.
